ABOUT CHLOË
Chloë is a Remedial Therapist, combining Soft Tissue Therapy techniques with NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) assessments to help reduce pain and facilitate healing. She received her BTEC Level 5 diploma from the prestigious London School of Soft Tissue Therapy (formally the LSSM) and is also a certified NKT practitioner which she uses in her assessment and treatment process.Chloë has extensive knowledge of the body, having spent over a decade as a Holistic trainer, teaching breath, meditation and yoga practices to all ages, abilities, and bodies, and brings this wealth of experience to her work.
The BMB Approach
A holistic approach that focusses on identifying and addressing the root cause of minor and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, helping to reduce pain and discomfort and rebalance the body.Combining NKT assessment, Soft-Tissue Therapy treatment, and movement re-education; clients receive comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation programmes to support them rebuild their strength, stability, and mobility to help manage pain and prevent future injures.
Soft Tissue Therapy (STT) utilises a range of techniques to assess and treat soft tissue injuries and complaints that may be causing pain, discomfort and poor function. Treatments may include Soft Tissue Release (STR), Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), Myofascial Release and Neuro Musclar Techniques (NMT). STT is an effective way of assisting in recovery from minor and chronic injuries.NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) uses manual muscle testing to assess motor control issues that contribute to many musculoskeletal problems, alongside tailored treatment and corrective exercises to restore proper function between the movement patterns in the body and the motor control centre in the brain.
About NKT
NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) is an assessment and treatment system developed by David Weinstock that combines Motor Control Theory with neuroscience and functional anatomy. Rather than simply treating symptoms, NKT allows therapists to identify the root cause of pain and dysfunction. Through the NKT protocol we can test muscle function to find which muscles are inhibited and which are overcompensating. These dysfunctions can then be corrected through a combination of Soft Tissue Therapy and remedial exercises to reprogramme the motor control centre of the brain.
The site of pain is not always the source of pain
All movement patterns are coordinated by the motor control centre (MCC) in the cerebellum of the brain, which is constantly working to help us move safely, pain free and maintain balance. As such the MCC can learn movement patterns that help us to function well, but also lead to dysfunctional patterns in response to trauma. For example, if you injure yourself and experience pain, the MCC will activate other muscles and create different movement patterns to reduce pain so that you can continue to move your body. Whilst this is an incredibly clever compensation strategy, utilising the incorrect muscles can cause long term pain, problems and dysfunction that will remain until the dysfunctional pattern is cleared and the MCC is reprogrammed with the correct movement patterns. For instance, the lower back pain you experience may not be because of your lower back but may instead be because of a previous ankle sprain which has provoked your MCC to create a compensatory movement pattern. NKT allows us to find the relationship between these compensatory patterns and restore functional movement by reprogramming the MCC through specific corrective exercises that will be assigned as part of your treatment plan.
